Working daily on new stories. The Porcelain Man novella just became a novel and is completely written. The stand-alone short story that will be published with that novel is coming along great, just a few more scenes to write.
It's almost 2019, just a few days away and I've been working hard on the Porcelain Man novella (maybe a novel but most likely a novella, I'm not super longwinded as a writer and I tend to get to the point of a chapter pretty quickly). I will be adding in a stand-alone short story at the end of the book. I've heard that other authors do that sometimes. The short story is half written and all planned out and the Porcelain Man novella is getting close to being wrapped up. If you're here in this blog, that means you've read my Wake Me book of short stories. Hope you liked it.
I've always been fascinated by the unknown. As an author I write it into all of my stories. There's something about it that I've always identified with. I watch Youtube videos of Near Death Experiencers telling their stories of the other side and although I'm aware that out of all those claims, there's got to be a lot of them fabricated, I still find their stories compelling. For many years, I've had something haunting my home. I say "something" because I'm not sure if it's a human spirit or ... the far worse thing I won't mention by name. Whatever it is, it mimics the sounds of animals, particularly, but not limited to, my dog. I'll hear her whining in the other room, then look down to see her curled up at my feet. When I enter the other room, the vocalization stops. I'll hear my dog come racing down the basement stairs (like she likes to do) and when I go out to see her, seconds later, I find the basement door closed and latched, and she's upstairs sleeping on the couch. Sometimes I'll hear the bark of a dog that sounds way bigger than mine (mine's a little Teddy Bear Puppy). Years ago, when my cat died, I came home to hear her meowing on the basement stairs. I've had phantom phone calls where the caller ID says my own house is calling itself, then when I answer it just hangs up. I've burned sage all throughout the home 3 different times and as soon as I did the activity went away ... for a while.
